Acquisition Status of ISO 14001 Certification

ISO (International Organization for Standardization) has developed a series of international standards on environmental management. The Environmental Management and Environmental Auditing series were published in September 1996 (revised in November 2015). In Japan, JISQ14001 was published as guidelines or environmental standards in October 1996 (revised in November 2015).

In an effort to respond to the recognized environmental standards, Daido Steel started the construction of a system using the Hoshizaki Plant as a model, in September 1995. In August 1996, Daido Steel became the first company in the specialty steel industry in Japan to be certified, and the second after Nagoya Works of Nippon Steel (at that time) in the iron and steel industry.

The entire Daido Group will continue to promote certification activities and continual improvement in its environmental management system.
