    S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index

    Ever since 2018, Daido Steel has been selected as one of the constituents of the S&P/JPX Carbon Efficiency Index.
    The S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index measures the performance of companies in the Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX), which reflects Japanese market trends, focusing on the level of environmental information disclosure and carbon efficiency (carbon emissions per unit of revenue).

    In February 2026, we were certified with an “A-” rating for climate change and water security.
    The CDP is a global initiative that operates a global information disclosure system enabling investors, companies, nations, regions, and cities to manage their environmental impact. It aims to promote transparency and accountability by providing data on GHG emissions and climate change initiatives to organizations such as companies and cities.

    Ever since 2024, Daido Steel has been selected as one of the constituents of the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index.
    The FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index is an ESG-focused index provided by FTSE Russell. It comprises Japanese companies evaluated as demonstrating relatively strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance within their respective sectors.

    FTSE Russell (a registered trademark of FTSE International Limited and Frank Russell Company) hereby certifies that Daido Steel Co., Ltd. meets the requirements for inclusion in the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index based on third-party research and has been selected as a constituent of this index. The FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index is widely used in the creation and evaluation of sustainable investment funds and financial instruments.

    We received a score of “A” in the 2024 MSCI ESG Ratings.
    The ESG Ratings by MSCI Inc., a global financial services company and index provider, analyzes the environmental, social, and governance initiatives and risk management capabilities of over 8,500 companies worldwide, assigning letter ratings on a seven-tier scale from the highest AAA to the lowest CCC.

    Ever since January 2024, Daido Steel has been selected as one of the constituents of the MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index.
    This index is constructed by selecting companies with outstanding ESG ratings from the constituents of the parent index (MSCI Japan IMI Index), aiming for approximately 50% of the stocks in each sector classification.

    Ever since March 2023, Daido Steel has been selected as one of the constituents of the Morningstar Japan ex REIT Gender Diversity Tilt Index.
    Companies selected are those that have strong gender diversity policies embedded in their corporate culture and those evaluated as ensuring equal opportunities to employees irrespective of their gender.

    SOMPO Sustainability Index

    Ever since 2023, Daido Steel has been selected as one of the constituents of the SOMPO Sustainability Index.
    The SOMPO Sustainability Index comprises approximately 300 constituents recognized for excellent ESG (Environment, Society Governance) initiatives. The selected stocks form active indexes independently created by Sompo Asset Management Co., Ltd. based on ESG scores.

    In 2022, we were certified as a Kurumin company under the Act on the Advancement of Measures to Support Raising the Children of the Next Generation. This is our third consecutive certification, following 2017 and 2019.
    The “Kurumin” certification is a certification program supported by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare for companies’ efforts to improve employment environments, and certifies companies that formulate and implement appropriate action plans meeting specific standards and achieve their goals as “Childcare Support Companies.”

    We have been certified by Aichi Prefecture as one of the Aichi Women’s Brilliance Companies.     In recognition of our initiatives contributing to biodiversity conservation, in 2022 we were certified as an “Aichi Biodiversity Certified Company” by Aichi Prefecture.
    This certification program promotes corporate biodiversity conservation initiatives and aims to spread exemplary practices throughout the prefecture by recognizing companies implementing outstanding initiatives.

    In July 2023, we signed the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), a global initiative proposed by the UN to achieve sustainable growth, and joined the “Global Compact Network Japan (GCNJ),” an organization responsible for implementing the UNGC’s philosophy and mission in Japan.
