Aiming to achieve the SDGs, each company must promote sustainability initiatives leveraging its expertise and experience.

We are committed to ensuring that our sustainability initiatives translate into the realization of our mission, contributing to solving societal challenges and enabling the enduring growth of the Daido Steel Group.
Our Initiatives for SDGs
Adopted by the United Nations in September 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) serve as a common language for solving social challenges and helping the world become what it aspires to be, under the slogan “Leave No One Behind.”
Guided by our management philosophy, we will leverage our technological capabilities, product development expertise, and innovative creativity to provide materials that support a prosperous future society through our manufacturing and are committed to realizing the better world envisioned by the SDGs.
Organization of Promoting Sustainability
In fiscal year 2007, we established a “CSR Committee” chaired by the President to strengthen our CSR activities and address various challenges in fulfilling our corporate social responsibilities.
In light of the growing importance of management that simultaneously achieves the realization of a sustainable society through solving social issues and the enhancement of sustainable corporate value, we established the “Sustainability Committee” as an advisory body to the Board of Directors in April 2022.
In addition, we also established the “ESG Management Department,” which rolls out various ESG-related measures on a company-wide basis.
The Sustainability Committee conducts planning and drafting of proposals and provides opinions with regard to basic management policies, as well as promotional activities and strategies related to sustainability. Important matters are decided after being reported to or put on the agenda of the Board of Directors.
We have positioned sustainability at the core of our management, and will take a forceful approach to promoting the various measures related to materiality, centered on addressing climate change.
