As company in pursuit of the realization of a sustainable society, we are committed to addressing wide-ranging sustainability issues, such as achieving carbon neutrality and realizing a circular economy, and aim to contribute to the achievement of these goals by expanding our extensive range of products that support a sustainable society. I believe that initiatives to achieve sustainability goals, including economic aspects, are a major prerequisite for corporate growth and, based on our commitment to sustainability, we will fulfill our social responsibilities and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society. Furthermore, to ensure that all our stakeholders understand our sustainability initiatives, we are promoting ESG-oriented activities throughout the entire Daido Steel Group.
In our 2026 Mid-Term Management Plan, we have set three basic action policies: "Transforming the business portfolio," "enhancing management resilience," and "advancing ESG management," and I consider “advancing ESG management” to be the foundation for the other two. We have also set indicators for E, S, and G, which are factors that influence corporate value, including CO2 emissions, labor productivity, engagement scores, and the percentage of cross-shareholdings. While these ESG initiatives have long been deeply rooted in our company, we believe that it is even more important from a corporate value perspective to ensure that our stakeholders fully understand our business capabilities and evaluate us appropriately. Therefore, we will continue to prioritize communication activities with our stakeholders and appropriately share with society information on our achievements and issues to be resolved.
